BLS CPR/AED Training for Healthcare Professionals

American Heart Association and/or American Red Cross' CPR/AED for Healthcare Providers training covers adult, child, infant CPR, automated external defibrillators (AED) use, conscious and unconscious choking in children and adults. BLS is designed for healthcare professionals to include but not limited to prehospital providers, like EMTs, paramedics, fire fighters, and in-facility hospital providers.

Course Curriculum:

  • High-quality CPR for adults, children, and infants
  • The Chain of Survival, specifically the BLS components
  • Important early use of an AED (automated external defibrillator)
  • High quality chest compressions
  • Effective ventilations using a barrier device
  • Importance of teams in multi-rescuer resuscitation and performance as an effective team member during multi-rescuer CPR
  • Relief of foreign-body airway obstruction (choking) for conscious and unconscious adults, children, and infants
  • Opioid-associated life-threatening emergencies
Upon successful completion of the course, students receive a course certification completion card, valid for two years.
